Kont is a network of cooperative settlements of 300–450 residents each, designed around a single conviction: human beings can build places where they actually want to live. The name is a portmanteau — Turkish Köy (village) + Kent (city).

§ 04 · What Kont is

A member-owned cooperative settlement — not a resort, not a developer product, not a utopian exit. Living, working, learning, and leisure are interwoven. Infrastructure is pooled: one clinic, one school, one FabLab shared across the neighborhoods. Capital is cooperative — returns are capped, surplus reinvests. The documents are open-source.

§ 05 · What Kont is not

Not a kibbutz — the kibbutz was a national-ideological project built on total collective ownership. Not an Auroville — we don't organise around a spiritual doctrine. Not a smart city — top-down tech projects rarely include resident agency. Not a gated community — Kont is built on layered inclusion, not exclusion.
