Founder note

I grew up between a village and a city, and I could never see the trade-off as real. The village gave me the thickness of relation — people who knew my grandmother's name, and mine. The city gave me the thickness of possibility — libraries, work, music, weather you could step out into and be changed by. I spent years waiting to choose. Kont is the letter I wrote to the younger me when I realised I didn't have to.

What keeps me optimistic is how little is missing. The cooperative law here is strong. The climate is kind. Twenty-eight households have already said yes — slowly, with their eyes open, the way you say yes to something you plan to live inside for a long time. We are not asking anyone to leap. We are asking them to walk, at the pace the land allows. If that rhythm matches yours, there is a place being held for you here.

How this site is built.

Source: The site builds from the same repository that holds the canonical documents at /docs. The source goes public when the project does; until then, every document rendered here is the same file the editors work from.
Canonical docs: /docs in the same repository, rendered at build time.
Hosting: Cloudflare Pages + Workers + D1 (local miniflare for now).
Framework: Astro 5 + React 19 + MDX + Tailwind v4. Field-manual design tokens.
Type: Cormorant Garamond · Work Sans · JetBrains Mono.
Build: Every commit renders the EN + TR site in ≈ 12 s. Two locales at v1 — EN canonical, TR hand-written. Arabic was dropped on 2026-04-20.
License: Web app code (apps/site + workers/api + packages/*) under the MIT license. Brand, docs, and journal under CC-BY-SA 4.0. The governance portal (v2) will ship under AGPL — decided when it's built, not before.
